ApironŠµTelegram has introduced Telegram Mini Apps (TMA), which allow you to embed a web application into the messenger window and interact with its infrastructure. You can integrate games there, sell goods and services directly in the messenger, create wallets, and even deploy a Web3 exchange. You can accept card payments through the API, and recently TMA has enlisted the support of TON - and users have a new tool for connecting with the crypto world.
TMA looks like a regular website or application, but at the same time, it takes into account the interface features and logic of the messenger. The main thing about TMAs is that they are opened and operated through web bots. That means TMA is both a Telegram bot and a web application.
Before the February 2022 sanctions, many Russian brands used to promote their products and services on Instagram* and Facebook*. The shutdown of these social networks caused a wave of panic and a decline in consumer activity, so many businesses moved their activity to Telegram. It escaped many blockings and became much more popular than most messaging services.
